The Trongsa Tshechu, held from the 8th to the 12th of the 11th month in the Lunar Calendar, spans 5 days and is one of the most significant and grand Tshechu festivals in Bhutan. Located in central Bhutan, Trongsa was historically the center of east-west trade and the seat of power for the Wangchuk dynasty before they became rulers of Bhutan in 1907. The 3-day Trongsa Tshechu is considered one of the oldest traditions, having spread to other districts, and is a must-witness event for its cultural and historical significance.
